Marco Odermatt Meine Welt
Meine Welt is a portrait of Marco Odermatt told through the people, places and routines around him. Written by Christof Gertsch and Mikael Krogerus, the publication builds its story from many smaller perspectives rather than following the structure of a conventional sports biography.
The publication takes the form of a collection of individual journals held together as one object. Photography by Sandro Bäbler, Dominik Hodel and Florian Spring sits alongside illustrations by Patrick Bonato, personal stories and observations. Each contribution is given its own space and rhythm while remaining part of the whole.
We developed the creative direction and editorial design, including the typographic system and the rhythm between the journals. Readers can enter Marco’s world from different points, moving between voices, images and stories rather than through a single linear narrative.
A bespoke board game adds another layer to the object. Printed by Druckerei Odermatt near Marco’s home in Nidwalden and published by Wörterseh Verlag, Meine Welt was conceived to be read, browsed, played and kept.
