Gurtenfestival Identity
Gurtenfestival takes place once a year, but its identity has to work long before the first band arrives on the mountain. Together with Salzmann Gertsch, we developed a visual identity that moves between annual communication, digital formats and the physical site above Bern.
At the centre is the G: both an initial and a graphic structure shaped by the idea of gathering. It provides a constant around which typography, colour, image and motion can shift from one application and edition to the next.
The identity appears across campaigns, posters, programme and ticket communication, motion, digital applications and the website. Its structure creates continuity while leaving enough room for each edition of the festival to develop its own character.
With BUS Group, the identity enters the festival grounds through the evolving Gurtenwelt. What begins as graphic communication in the city becomes a spatial language on the mountain, connecting the experience before, during and after the event.
